HISTORY:
It was late. The scientist had just gotten home from a long day at work, currently where they were working on a theory that with the right mix of chemicals, immortality was possible. They could reverse the aging process at a certain time, depending on how the operation went... The only problem was, they couldn't test it until they found a willing subject, and they couldn't just ask someone to do it. She started making herself dinner when her son came down the stairs and wandered into the kitchen. She smiled at him. "Jay, what are you doing up so late?" she asked, picking him up and taking him back up the stairs. "You weren't home yet, so I waited for you," he said, his four year old voice pipping up. She got him into bed and left his room, closing the door behind her. She walked back downstairs, grabbing some leftover pasta from the night before. As it heated in the microwave, she got a sudden call. Her phone buzzed in her back pocket, and she pulled it out and answered it. "Hello?" she asked. "Hello, Mrs. Williams this is the president. I must speak with you about urgent terms." Confused, she blinked a few times and said, "Um, okay. What kind of terms, sir?" "It has come to my attention that in New York, you are working on a project to successfully create immortality. Is this true?" Swallowing hard, she nodded even though he wouldn't see it. "Yes, sir." "Well, I must ask you, how will you plan to complete this?" She sighed in defeat. "Actually, sir, we are currently at a standstill... We were thinking about testing it on animals, but many people are protesting against us using them, so we have the test prepared, just no one to test it on..." she admitted. "Well, I have a proposition for you. But first, I want you to tell me just how devoted to science, and this test, you are." At first she was confused, unsure of what that had to do with the topic. She said, "Sir, I would put my own life up for this test, and for any other science. Unfortunately, I am the supervisor of this particular test, and if anything were to go wrong, it would've been my job to find out exactly what went wrong and fix it before a life was lost..." "Well, now for my proposition. What if, and this is completely up to you what with being the supervisor, we took a child who was cut off from outside world, and never had really anything to live for, and we tested on them?" Instantly, her motherly instincts told her to scream at him and hang up the phone for thinking such cruel things. But this was the president, and he did have a point. If you have nothing to live for, why try to continue? And there is still the chance that the child would survive, even if it was slim, she forced herself to believe it. "Who would offer this child?" she asked. She heard a long pause over the phone, but then he spoke again. "You. This is why I asked how devoted you are. Would you offer a child, and I know that you have two sons and a daughter who have reasons to live, therefore I will not ask you to hand one of them over, but if you had another child..." She gulped. Could she handle that? Growing and birthing a child just to give them up to science, where she would see the child every day, but it couldn't know who she was? She had to believe that she could, and although it would be painful for her emotionally, she had to do it. It could be the biggest break through in the history of science. They had to try. But if it failed, she would never offer it up again. That was her final decision. "Okay, Mr. President. I will do it."

So, that was how it all began. Mrs. Williams conceived a child who was to be raised in government facilities and have no contact with any one outside of those facilities, nor have any contact with any thing outside of those facilities. She would live obliviously, and that was how it would stay for her entire life, whether it be cut short, or lengthened for eternity. Nine months later, a beautiful baby girl was born, named Ashley Tae Williams, who was immediately taken to a government facility that was miles away from any life, aside from vegetation. And so, her legacy began.
Ashley was supposedly the key to everything. At least, that's what everybody thought. If the tests were successful, she would be immortal and never age past the year she turned 18. If they were unsuccessful, the tests would be stopped until technology evolved to give them another option. But for now, Ashley was the answer. Her life was recorded on a log, an endless log describing in detail what she did and how she did it. Her home was a lab, her bed was a table, her food was plain oatmeal, her drinks were tap water, and her life was a secret. She had absolutely zero contact with the world outside of the facility, and she couldn't protest either. As far as she knew, there was no world outside of the facility. It was all she knew, and it was planned that it was all she would ever know. She would never laugh, she would never cry, she would never feel pain, she would never know what love or happiness was. She was like a robot, confined to the thoughts within her head and the walls around her body, emotionless, strangely nonchalant about everything she did. But, the scientist's greatest fear was that the testing would fail, or go wrong. And oh, how it did.
A test had managed to leak in her room while she slept, one that hadn't been approved yet to test on humans. She breathed it in, spreading the new and potentially unsafe serum throughout her entire body, without knowing that it was happening, nor could she stop it. In the morning, she was getting ready to eat, like she always did, when a voice popped into her head. Multiple voices. She looked up, counting the faces in the room. Eight. She numbered off the voices. Eight. She listened to each one carefully. "Poor girl. She doesn't know anything..." "I bet she would be a great person if she wasn't forced to be a test subject for a test that might not even let her live." "The outside world would scare her, at this point. Murder and crime, and dangerous technology. Oh! How would she respond to war? Oh, the horror..." "There's no saving her at this point. She's already emotionless, a target for anything beyond a blank stare. She's a robot that breaths, eats, and shits, and she doesn't even know why she has to do it." "She literally doesn't know what life is... " "I didn't sign up to watch a girl die..." "I couldn't imagine being Dr. Williams. She's a brave soul to give up her child like that." "My daughter. She's sitting in the same room as me, blankly staring at me, but she has no idea that I'm her mother. The cruelty of it all. I shouldn't have done this..."
At first, her stare remained blank, emotionless brown eyes looking at the ground. Then, for the first time in her life, she spoke out. "What's war? What's technology? What's a mother? And a child? What's shit? What outside world...?" And then, chaos. It didn't take them long at all to realize that she had just read their thoughts, and now she knew more than she was every supposed to know. Frantically running around, the scientists were trying to figure out what went wrong, who could've made contact to her while she was being unsupervised. Then, Dr. Williams found the tipped vial. She picked it up, gasping as she read the label. "The test! The one that hadn't been approved yet.. it spilled and must've gotten into her system overnight. What do we do, what do we do?!" Ashley just watched them dissolve into complete insanity, while her blank, clear eyes looked over them, learning as they screamed and panicked.

OOC Information -She learned quickly, since they couldn't keep her out of their heads. She began picking up piece of information by piece of information, and she soon held the intelligence of the average girl her age, and within a week, she would learn the equivalent to someone older than her. Being surrounded by the smartest people in the country made it easy to learn when you could read every thought they had. And after about a month of reading their thoughts, she could send messages through her head into theirs. Telepathy. She had gained telepathy. And so far, there were no negative results on the immorality tests either, which showed only promise that it too had worked on her.
Right before she was about to turn fourteen, they decided it was time to take her outside of the facility. They wouldn't be able to contain her anymore. They used to never have to worry about her having thoughts of escape, because she never knew about anything outside, nor a reason to run to it. But know she did, and if they didn't bring her back to reality, she would get there herself, and it was best to keep her with them for the time being.
The city was incredible. She touched almost everything, marveling at how beautiful the buildings were against the sky. The sky, oh, how amazing. Endless stretches of blue with white fluffiness occasionally passing through. And the flaming ball in the middle of it... She searched their heads, and found the sun. A giant star in space that was capable of warming the Earth enough for life to survive here. It moved, or so it seemed, in a strange circle. Coming up in the east and setting in the west... Everyday, it appeared like the sun was passing through the ground below her feet at night, while the moon and stars came out to play, until the sun came back around on the same side every morning. But she never heard anything else about mother. Or child. Or daughter. Or family. She suspected that they were hiding something from her, but she was too amazed to care.
She spent half a year in society, and by that time, she was a fully fledged member of the world around her. Aside from her telepathy, which she was told had to be kept a secret, or she would be killed. So stay a secret it had. She had explored many talents which she so happened to possess. She could sing like an angel. And although she wasn't the best dancer, she still enjoyed doing it. She could draw and write, and she took a particular adoration to horses and riding them. No one denied her fun. She was different and she knew it. The more she fit in, the better. And a teenage girl who happened to be extremely flexible and immediately accepted onto the cheer leading squad at the athletics place nearby, was definitely someone who could fit in.
So she was given pretty much anything she wanted, just to allow her to fit in. And then she met Will. Will was the captain of the local football team, who she and the squad cheered for sometimes. She actually finished a game, when he came over to her, sweaty and gross, yet handsome as hell. His blonde hair was tousled, as he ran a slick hand through it and made it stick up in all sorts of directions. Underneath his shoulder pads, he had a broad chest which she couldn't help but stare at. But his eyes... blue and stunning was the real thing that drew her in. She smiled like an idiot at him as he stopped in front of her. "Hey, Ashley right?" he asked her. She nodded, still grinning stupidly. He laughed, but not because of the grin. There was another reason, which he then explained. "You know, me and the team are heading over to this pizza place later. Just gonna put it out there, you're really pretty and I think that you are an amazing cheerleader, and your voice is beautiful, and your drawings are at, if not, near perfection -" She cut him off by pressing a finger to his lips. "I'll definitely be there. Just text me, okay?" She took out her drawing pen from her pocket and grabbed his arm. She wrote her cell number on his palm, and then put the pen away. "Meet you in... an hour?" He nodded, then jogged back off to his teammates to celebrate their win for the night. She smiled as she watched him go. Then she turned around, finding Dr. Williams standing there. "Oh. Hi..." she said.

She walked to the pizza place after she went home and got ready. Putting on a black crop top with an aqua rose on it, along with a pair of skinny jeans, and a pair of combat boots. Then, she did her hair so it was braided across the top, like a headband. Smiling at her appearance, she took off out of the house, phone in hand just in case. She met Will halfway, who was wearing a tank top and khaki shorts. He smiled at her, and without thinking, she hesitantly grabbed his hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. It was a move anyone could've pulled off, but to her it felt strange. An emotion coursed through her, something she had never felt before. She couldn't put a finger on it, though. Shrugging it off, she took a deep breath and smiled at Will. He grinned back, returning the squeeze to her own hand.
Pizza was new and interesting to her. She had never ate it, nor seen it. The smell was nice, and it looked appetizing... but she just couldn't bring herself to eat it. Lying and saying that she wasn't hungry, she didn't order any. However Will made her have just a bite of his, in which she did, and immediately fell in love with the food.
The date with Will went on for a long time, and at 9pm, they finally left the Pizza place. The autumn wind chilled her, and she admitted that she was cold as they walked. Will took off his varsity jacket and slid it around her shoulders. Smiling sheepishly, she thanked him, for both the kind act, and dinner, and the compliments, and so much more. He just grinned and said "Of course." They ended up at the park, vacant and silent. Sitting down at a bench, Will did the "yawn and stretch move", putting his arm around her, and she leaned into him slightly. She looked up and saw the moon, and smiled. "It's so beautiful in the city..." she murmured, watching the lights come off to shine in the blackness that was the night. "I know something better," he said, shrugging nonchalantly. She glanced up at him, awaiting an answer. And slowly, carefully, he leaned down and kissed her forehead. "You."
After that, Will became Ashley's best friend... with a romantic twist. And she enjoyed having him around. He was funny, and kind, and he didn't care about showing affection to her in public, such as holding her hand or hugging her out of no where. And she relished in this strange but amazing thing called love. However it wasn't long before things began to get confusing.
She received a call about a month later from an unknown number, while she was in her room, telling her that she was in danger. Responding with a nervous laugh, she asked, "How?" They simply said, "Tell Dr. Williams that the time has come, and she will explain everything." Without another word, they hung up, and she was left confused and a little scared. Going downstairs to find Dr. Williams, as the two had been living together in an apartment ever since she was freed from the facility, Ashley began telling her what happened. She wanted answers.

And so she got them. Dr. Williams told Ashley the whole story, after she had them both sit down on the couch in the living room, about the call she got from the president until the current moment, when she would have to send Ashley off to a school for "mutants". Mutants were humans with special abilities, in Ashley's case: telepathic communication, super-human agility and reflexes, and immortality. Confused why, if she had been aging since she was born, she was fifteen and still getting older. Dr. Williams then explained that she would stop aging after Ashley turned eighteen. The topic was then brought back to the school. "They call it 'Xavier's Institute for Gifted Youngsters' or 'The Institute' for short. You are leaving tomorrow to go there, to protect you. You're in danger if you stay here any longer... I can't risk that for my own dau--" Dr. Williams cut her sentence short, and with a quick realization, Ashley realized that this wasn't just a scientist who did tests on her. This was her own mother.
Many emotions had stirred inside Ashley. Anger, hate, joy, pain, fear, sadness... But there was no point, because none of them displayed physically in any way. With a blank face, she nodded, and stood up. Walking out of the room, she went upstairs, and after she closed her bedroom door, she locked it. Leaning her forehead against the wall, the flood of tears began.
For about an hour she cried, trying to figure out how to cope with the stress that began to crush down upon her. Not knowing what else to do, she sat on her bed with her legs folded under her, and she called Will, still sobbing over the phone as he suddenly started panicking about her being upset. She told him everything, even the part about her powers, but instead of comforting her like she thought, he began laughing. "Telepathic ability? Come on, now, Ash. You really don't think I believe that, do you? Super human agility and reflexes? Immortality? Tell me what's really going on." And so she fell silent, unsure of what to do. She mumbled through her tears, sniffing between each word. "It's the truth, Will..." And he laughed again. "You really are a good actress. Are you trying out for a play, or something?"
She bit her lip, hoping he would just think the connection was lost or something, and after saying "Hello?" four times, he finally hung up. She covered her face with her hands and leaned down, sitting in a fetal position as she cried.

She didn't move. It wasn't until morning when she felt as if her tears had all been cried, and her hands were still wet from the crying. Checking the clock and finding it 4am, she slid off the bed and began to pack. Maybe the school wouldn't be too bad... Maybe she could find peace there, a home even. Whatever life through at her next, she was prepared for it. She would be successful, even if she was different. She would be infinite. And so that's how she got her name. "Infinity" would be unstoppable. And that was it. As easy as opening a door and closing it behind her, she walked out of her old life, to find a new one...
